These Thoughts on where i’m from in something like haiku and drawings

This zine is made in a A4 sized 4-panel roll fold. It is based on a conversation I had with my father. We were talking about who our ancestors were and possibly visiting a guess-timation of the last place in China they lived in. I did a preliminary search online and their migration story is pretty depressing. Thus, the zine title says what it is. Just my thoughts.. and feelings. Not infographics, not a retelling.

The zine has a vague story line so the interpretation is left to the reader. How to read it? Read the panels as the pages unfold, read the panels of one side of the paper first, then the other. Read a panel on its own. Read it any way you like, It doesn't matter. There is also a flap for the reader to lift up, you could see it as a means of connecting the worlds from both sides of the paper.

Please excuse my not very good haiku! I didn't follow all the rules but mostly tried to capture a moment that depict a feeling.
